About
Hilltop
Haven

Our homestead is a very special place, not just for our family and the animals that live here... but also a retreat for all who visit.

Our story

We both grew up in Indiana... and we have a large, blended family of 9 kids and plenty of stories that brought us to that. Of the 9, only 3 remain at home, plus one in college. Then in 2021, the North Carolina chapter of our story began. We came to the state, very green to the area, and rented a home while we became familiar with our new surroundings. Then in 2023, we finally found and purchased the property in Salisbury, NC that contained our forever home and what would become Hilltop Haven.

Our property is a little over 4 acres and is surrounded by trees, with only an opening for the driveway. As you pull in, you see the white house up on a bit of a hill (thus the "Hilltop" name). Then behind and around the house you find the "Haven" part of the name... the animals and the spaces setup for them. The house came with 4 chickens and a small coop. It now is home to 16 chickens, 1 hair sheep, 2 pot belly pigs, 8 ducks, 3 rabbits and (of course) 10 Nigerian Dwarf goats! There is also one Great Pyrenees dog standing guard outside at all times. Then inside, there are more dogs, cats and other inside pets.

We love our home and the life we're building here. It has become our haven, and we'd love for you to share in the experience with us!

"Taking some time out of the regular day-to-day routine to play with some goats was just what our family needed!"

Why should we visit Hilltop Haven?

Your busy life and routine can become stale and also very stressful. You and your family deserve a break... and it's hard to beat taking a break with a bunch of goats on a peaceful homestead surrounded by nature and friendly, fun animals!

Friendly, beautiful goats

We have a beautiful herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats that are anxious to meet you! From grown goats that aren't yet two years old down to baby goats (kids) that were born in summer 2024, we have a really fun group of goats!

They are mostly pets for our family, but we realize that everyone who visits is able to experience a little bit of what we get to experience every day.
